Self-portrait by Dreamspinner
This is a memorial to Sean-Perrin Parker, known online as Dreamspinner, who changed many lives by teaching us how to weave our own dreams.
Sean-Perrin Pierce Parker, a writer and Web site designer, died Friday of cancer at her home. She was 27. Mrs. Parker was born in Covington and lived in Mandeville for the past four years. She attended Nicholls State and Southeastern Louisiana universities and was on the dean's list at both. She was the author of "Thirteen Tales of the Fae" and "Twilight Realm" and received Green Awards for her writing and for best Web site from the Celtic Writers Society. Survivors include her husband, A. Mark Parker III; her father, Frederick W. Pierce; her mother, Susan Blossman Pierce; a brother, Erin Patrick Pierce; two sisters, Shane P. Glass and Shannon P. Ober; and her grandmother, Mable Perrin Blossman. A Mass will be said today at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Road near Covington. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington. Burial will be in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
She died quietly in my arms, at home with myself and her 2 cats. She had made peace with her GOD, and did not fear death, for she believed that even in her short life, she had been blessed with all that life had to give her. Many times she told me that she didn't regret dying, but only regreted that she would have to leave me alone on this earth. Sean and I were soulmates, and death can't seperate us. On occasion, if I am very still and can quiet my spirit, I can feel her touching my soul and telling me that all is well on the other side...
She waits to greet me, and her other friends, on the other side of the curtain of darkness, in the forest of life and is preparing a kind and gentle place in eternity.
She passed from this world in no pain, and had no fear...
PS. In honor of her memory, and in response to numerous requests for more of her writings, I am working on publishing her unfinished works. I have added a new section under Dreamspinner's Loom called Unfinished Works and I will place them there as I am able.....it will take me a while publish these stories, since I have to proof them first to insure that I'm publishing the correct version of each story.
It was unfortunate that I never knew or met Dreamspinner. I had bought the TwilightRealm domain in late 2003, a year after the domain had expired in late 2002. I was unaware that anyone had owned it before me, until the day I found the archives of her old site from the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. With some more research, I discovered more of who Dreamspinner was, how she touched so many lives, and how breast cancer had eventually claimed her life. Her husband kept her site running for another three years after her death.
As a dedication and memorial, I restored as much of her old site as I could so that her writings and art may continue to inspire others to follow their own dreams. -Current Webmaster
